So, my new post is where I am going to put a quote about every day or week, or whenever I have the time to. On this post, you can comment on what you think about the quote, what you think it means or even you can post another quote that you think is like it or has to do with the same theme. The first quote is:
Like a beautiful flower is colorful but has no fragrance, even well spoken words bear no fruit in one who does not put them into practice.
-Buddha

Hey Alex,
ReplyDeleteWe must be best friends because I had the same idea you did without even looking at your blog in a week! I'm doing the same thing, but my quotes are about books, so at least they're not exactly the same, haha. I love your quote though!
Hello Alex... This is an interesting quote. Who wrote it? Unless you came up with it yourself, you should try to give credit to the person who originally said these words (and future quotes that you intend on posting).
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I think that this person is implying that "actions speak louder than words". For example, telling someone that you respect them means nothing if you do not show that respect by paying attention to them while they are speaking.
As a teacher, I can also see how this quote could be referring to the fact that it is important to "lead by example". You can tell someone how or what to do as much as you want, but the most effective way to get them to understand and follow your directions is to let them watch you do the task correctly.
I think that's very true, because people try to sound like they're really great, but they contradict themselves a lot.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Mr. Gallo I forgot to put who wrote it but I just edited the post and wrote that Buddha wrote it. Thanks for reminding me!

I feel that this quote means that there are many words out there that are really great, but it does no good for anyone who doesn't use them. It is like the word is pointless and useless.
